| Writing is all about your target audience, which means a lot of training in many different genres. In addition to degrees in English (Creative Writing; i.e., fiction, nonfiction, poetry, short stories, novels, children's, and a lot of Shakespeare); Communications (journalism, news reporting, human interest, sports writing, magazines, and reviews); and Instructional Design, I have taken every writing class that universities offer in every department. For example, I took classes in instructional writing/design, grant writing, playwriting, screen writing, medical, law, business, environmental, and technical writing plus a number of classes in topics such as résumés, career development, counseling, how-to writing, and global communications. We (the team) are also published in various media including over a dozen books, two dozen magazines and newspapers, and six dozen plus corporations for instructional writing projects.
